That's Not Fair!
That's Not Fair! is Ma'yan's Social Justice Apprenticeship, where Ma'yan staff collaborate with working artists to teach girls how to use art to educate, provoke, and create change in the world.  Our first That's Not Fair! project took place from Feburary-May 2010.  Along with acclaimed director and puppeteer Jenny Romaine, seven Jewish girls aged 12-17 used the modality of political theater to address issues of privilege and inequality.  The production, also entitled "That's Not Fair!," premiered at the JCC in Manhattan and was also performed for youth and community audiences in synagogues and Hebrew high schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
