A future full of girls who are critical thinkers, creative, confident and skilled in leadership: this is the vision that inspired us to create That’s Not Fair!: The Ma’yan Political Theater Apprenticeship--an apprenticeship program that uses the arts to teach teens about social justice.

We spent many hours preparing the various sessions that led us to the amazing production of That’s Not Fair! that wowed teen audiences across NYC.  So we figured we should not keep all that work to ourselves, and instead share it with all those who might want to incorporate some of our ideas and activities into their own programming with tweens and teens. 

This Guide & Handbook comprises the activities and work we did with eight teen apprentices over ten weeks between January and June of 2010, plus articles and resources.
